Gears of War 4 will be officially released on October 11th for the Xbox One and Windows 10. It is being developed by The Coalition, a newly established studio by Microsoft under the direction of Gears of War series veteran Rod Fergusson.
While Gears of War 4 isn’t out yet until a couple more days, the game can be already pre-loaded ahead of the official launch on the Xbox One and PC. The full size of the pre-load for the digital version is around 54 GB according to the game director, Rod Fergusson.
Fergusson also confirmed that the 54 GB size includes the day 1 patch for the digital version of the game, but it will have to be downloaded separately for the retail verison. This means that if you bought Gears of War 4 at launch, you will have to wait for it to download the 11 GB day patch before you can start with it.
Gears of War 4 story is set after the events in Gears of War 3 and sees the return of some old faces including Marcus Fenix and Cole Train. The game is being developed by The Coalition and will be published by Microsoft.
