Gears of War 5 Will Launch on September 10 For Xbox One And PC

Microsoft has confirmed the release date for Gears of War 5 and it is out relatively soon. After an earlier leak, the revealed the details on the story and some of the new gameplay mechanics, the release date was confirmed today.

Microsoft released the trailer for Gears of War 5 today but sadly there was no gameplay demo. There was no glimpse of any gameplay at all and it is mostly a cutscene that shows some footage of the various characters and seems to market the new Escape gameplay mode.

Gears of War is a tentpole Xbox exclusive that is being developed by The Coalition. It was first revealed at E3 2018 and it is confirmed to be the largest Gears of War game to date with open world design. Here are some details from the official Xbox press release for the game.

The world is crumbling. Humanity’s reliance on technology has become their downfall and enemies are uniting to wipe out all survivors. As Kait you must journey across the biggest, most beautiful Gears world to uncover the origins of the Locust, and fight with your squad to protect what’s left.

Those who pre-order Gears of War 5 Ultimate Edition can get early access to the game while there is a pre-order bonus for Terminator Dark Fate Character Pack, featuring the T-800 Endoskeleton.

Gears of War 5 will be out on September 10, 2019, for PS4 and Xbox One. It is also coming to Steam in addition to Windows 10 Store.
