While the upcoming release of Gears Of War 4 might be enough incentive to make any true Xbox fan quiver with anticipation, developer The Coalition has just given veterans of the Gears Of War franchise another reason to rejoice.
In a post on the game’s official website, the developers have announced a few bonuses to anyone who might have played any previous Gears of war game. To receive these bonuses players not only have to have played a Gears of War title, but they also have to be currently subscribed to Xbox Live Gold or should be a Silver Member that has logged into their Gamertag at least once over the course of the last 12 months.
First up is the Exclusive Legacy Emblem. This emblem will be readily available to players in the Customization menu, and features a “Gear carrying an old COG banner under a new dawn.” Simply booting up a previous title in the series while connected to Xbox Live is enough to qualify you for the Legacy reward.
Then comes the Bonus Operations Pack. Any players eligible for the Legacy Emblem will also receive a bonus operations pack, which will contain 1 guaranteed customization item and any 4 types of cards. Codes for these will be sent via Xbox Live messages, and will only be valid till 31st December 2016.
Gears Of War 4 is set for release exclusively on the Xbox One and the PC on 11th October, 2016. The game is also part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, which means that purchasing the game once on either the Xbox One or Windows 10 will automatically allow the owner to play the game on the other platform as well.
