Geoff Keighley Could Be Hinting At From Software’s Shadows Die Twice

Shadows Die Twice was initially revealed at The Game Awards 2017 which was hosted by Geoff Keighley. It was a surprise reveal since it is the next major project by From Software, who are currently one of the most popular Japanese developers in the Western market.

From Software has released some obscure niche games in the past including King’s Field, which was a spiritual successor to the Souls series.  They have also worked on a horror game called Kuon which was based on ancient Japanese horror story and set in a mansion. It featured fixed camera perspective like Resident Evil but the gameplay was focused purely on survival horror rather than action elements.

When Shadows Die Twice was revealed with a short teaser, fans were quick to notice that there was a familiar sound playing in the trailer that was from Kuon. This started the theory that this was a spiritual successor to Kuon just like Demon’s Souls was a spiritual successor to King’s Field.

Geoff Keighley has now taken it to Twitter to share a teaser which appears to resemble Kuon. It features a lady with a lengthy Kimino that is being teased by a Shadow. There is a lot of resemblance to Kuon but the FX logo makes it clear that this is not from some gameplay or teaser trailer. In any case, we should hear about From Software’s Shadows Die Twice at the upcoming E3 2018.
