George R. R. Martin Confirms Collaboration With A Japanese Dev, Rumors Suggest From Software

From Software will announce a new game at E3 2019 as per a report. The rumors right now suggest that it is an open world game that will be revealed at E3 2019. George R. R. Martin also recently revealed on his blog that he has worked with a video game studio in Japan, so is that From Software’s new project?

Gematsu has now shared some details on this upcoming new IP by From Software. They have cited their sources which lines up with an earlier rumor regarding this new From Software project. It is going to be an open world game offering travel through horse-riding. It has been in development for three years and it will be revealed at E3 2019 during Microsoft’s Press Conference.

The earlier rumor had more details including how the open world will play out. There will be multiple kingdoms where the player can visit and after killing their leaders, they will gain new powers. It sounds like a mix of Sekiro and Dark Souls and the game’s publisher is reportedly Bandai Namco, who has worked with From Software on Dark Souls.

E3 2019 is now just a few weeks away so if this is indeed true, we will find out either way. If this collaboration is not with From Software, then it will be interesting to see which Japanese game studio worked with George R. R. Martin for their new game.
