Duke Nukem is a first person shooter franchise which traces its roots back to 1991. The series has been so popular in the past, that the first 2 games in the franchise are even accredited with popularizing the first person genre itself. Now, a new website has gone up called DukeNukem.com, and it might just hint towards a new game in the Duke Nukem series.
The website itself is only a timer, which at the time of writing this article stands at around 8 days. A banner at the top of the website also reads “Happy 20th Anniversary”, which may point to the anniversary of Duke Nukem 3d, which turned 20 years old back in January this year.
To top it all off, back in August, even an official twitter page was launched by the name of @dukenukemgame.

The most recent game in the Duke Nukem Franchise was Duke Nukem Forver, which was released back in 2011 after rights to the series were acquired by Gearbox Software. The game received mostly negative reviews and was criticized for it’s dated visuals and general lack of polish.
All that’s left now is to wait for the timer to finish counting down on 2nd September, 2016 to see if an official reveal is made by Gearbox Software.
