God of War Collection PS Vita Early Impressions Mostly Positive; Screenshots Reveal Controller Layout

God of War Collection on the PS Vita is out soon. Some people have already gotten their hands on it and hence we have gotten direct-feed screenshots straight from the PS Vita along with general impressions of the port.

One reddit user has got this game a while ago and he has shared his impressions with us, along with plenty of direct-feed screenshots.

Games look pretty good to me. Not as good as the HD Collection for PS3, but more similar to the PS2 versions which is not a bad thing because those games looked great for their time. The interface doesn’t look very good though; Framerate seems pretty solid and constant for GoW 1 but GoW 2 seems to have some slowdowns. It’s definitely playable and it doesn’t bother me at all. The cutscenes are pretty low-res and they have some black bars around them.

The game sounds seem to be highly compressed and this is something that bothers me a bit. And there are no subtitles 🙁 .

Very good, felt right at home. The back-touch is used for actions like opening chests and doors.

All in all, I’d say it’s a pretty good port and I don’t regret buying it.

To be honest, these initial impressions don’t really sound good in term of visual and audio quality, but it is nice to hear that the gameplay is still solid and the frame rate holds up well.

Here is the controller layout of the game.
