According to a leaked press release, the next iteration of the Gran Turismo series, Gran Turismo 6 will be released for the Playstation 3 this holiday season. iafrica was supposedly able to put their hands on the release, breaking the news.
There is currently a Gran Turismo event going on in the UK at the Silverstone Circuit, where attendees are learning more about the series and are being treated to “exciting announcements about its future.” Yesterday, the gran-turismo.com website featured a product listing for the unannounced driving simulation.
The title has been in development since 2010 and Sony has announced that the title would be released sometime this year but refused to offer a solid timeframe. For those worried about their collection, all of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo 5 will be retained in Gran Turismo 6. But notable additions to the line-up of historic cars, road cars and the latest race cars, brings the total car list to 1200 at launch, with new cars set to be continually added online.
