Kazunori Yamauchi, founder of the Gran Turismo series, was in Paris for the Peugeot Vision GT event where he talked about the continuing partnership between Peugeot and Gran Turismo for the next segment of the series, Gran Turismo 7. In a conversation with Spazio Games, Kazunori Yamauchi discussed release date concerns for Gran Turismo 7 and the drawbacks of the earlier versions of the game.
Yamauchi spoke about the rumored 2017 release date saying “we are talking about Gran Turismo, people will not have to wait so long”. His statement likely points to a late 2016 release date, but a late 2015 release may also be possible according to his earlier interview in 2013 with Famitsu magazine where he said “a year or two (from 2013)”. The late time of year release follows a trend with earlier release of Gran Turismo 5 which launched in November 2010 and Gran Turismo 6 which launched in December 2013.
Yamauchi also added that there are more premium cars without mentioning any figures and that problems with the simulated damage and crash physics have been fixed in the new title.
