Gran Turismo Sport is the latest Gran Turismo game that will be released exclusively for the PS4 this year. The game is being released 3 years after the launch of PS4 and as such, fans have a lot of high expectations with the release of the game.
Those who have seen the reveal of Gran Turismo Sport might be disappointed after its initial showing, as it looked really last generation in term of its graphics and it was a far cry from how Gran Turismo used to push the graphical boundaries of a racing game. Polyphony Digital later explained that the build that they showed at the reveal event was an old build and promised improvements at the game’s launch.
Judging from what we have seen of the game at E3 2016, it appears to have received a major face-lift in the latest build and now looks like an upgrade from Gran Turismo 6 in several aspects. You can watch this difference in the GIFs below.
The comparison above shows improved draw distance, level-of-detail across the vehicles and environment and improved texture quality and shadows. In short, the game shows a generational upgrade across PS3 to PS4.
Gran Turismo Sport will be released on November 15th, 2016 for the PS4. It is being developed by Polyphony Digital and will be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
