On the announcement of Halo 5: Guardians, Microsoft released an image which showed a new character with a blue visor. Other than that, Master Chief was seen as his refection and this stirred up several rumors in the community. Although the rumors were shot down, the mysterious character was never revealed.
The mystery spartan has been revealed to be Agent Locke, and Ridley Scott’s series Halo Nightfall will shed more light onto this soldier’s story. Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the four game bundle including high definition remasters of previous Halo games, will enable buyers to gain access to Halo Nightfall.
During a meeting at E3 2014 General Manager and Studio Head of 343 Industries Studio, Bonnie Ross said, “We’re using Halo Nightfall to basically tell his back story and tell his origin story.” He further said, “You don’t have to watch this, but knowing this will kind of tee you up for all the new things that are going on in Halo 5: Guardians.”
” The goal is to drop you right off at the doorstep of Halo 5: Guardians,” said Ross.
Ross said that Nightfall in in production as of this moment, shooting just finished in Ireland and has moved to Iceland. 343 will reveal more about how the game and the show interact at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
We will keep you posted on any further details that come out.
