Today was a big day for Halo fans all over the world and especially those who prefer to play games on PC. Microsoft has confirmed that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will release on Steam and Windows 10 Store.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection launched as an exclusive for the Xbox One and remained this way until today when it was finally announced for PC. The game already supports 4K resolution for the Xbox One X but the PC version will likely take it above and beyond the limitations of console gaming.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection includes almost every Halo game released so far save for Halo 5: Guardians. Microsoft finally dropped the announcement of a Halo Reach 4K Remaster which will also release on Xbox One along with PC. It will be available free for those who have purchased a copy of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for their Xbox One.
Halo Reach was the last major Halo game by Bungie before they left the series in the hands of Microsoft. They later went on to create their own new IP with Destiny. Halo Reach will support 4K and HDR while the game has been confirmed to run at 60 FPS on the Xbox One.
Halo Reach will be the first game to launch on PC and Xbox One. The multiplayer will be offered for free but the campaign has to be purchased as a premium digital add-on for existing users. No release dates were given for the release of this collection on PC aside from the confirmation that Halo Reach will be the first one to arrive in the near future.
