Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out today for the PC and PS4. It is an Unreal Engine 4 developed game for the console and PC so it makes an interesting point of comparison between both platforms to see how well the old PS4 stacks against the PC. If you own a PS4 Pro, then you can enjoy some exclusive additional enhancements that will be available in the game.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice runs at a native 1080p resolution on the PS4. The resolution for PS4 Pro is a bit higher at 1440p and it also features a 60hz mode on the PS4 Pro for better performance. The comparison below was made by YouTube channel Candyland and it doesn’t cover the PS4 Pro.
Based on the difference seen in the video, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice seems to take advantage of the better hardware on PC to offer some noticeable improvements mainly for the shadow quality, foliage and textures. The anti-aliasing technique and post-processing effects are of higher quality on the PC as expected, however the PS4 version manages to hold really well for most of the scenes except where the difference is much more noticeable.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is out today on the PS4 and PC. The game is a timed console exclusive for PS4 and will make its way to other platforms once the exclusivity period ends for it.
