Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain street date was broken more than a week before its official launch. Since the game carries a lot of interesting plot twists, which can be easily spoiled by sharing a single screenshot or video, Sony has blocked the game for using share access on the PS4.
Normally, when we share screenshots/videos of games before official launch, they can be shared across all mediums including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. In the case of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain though, there is a restriction on it directly in the PlayStation 4’s OS.
If you try to share you screenshots of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, you will be greeted by the following message as seen below.
This is honestly a nice way to stop the spoilers from spreading before the official launch of the game. While this might not completely remove the threat of spoilers getting posted, it definitely helps in reducing them as sharing through PS4 is usually the preferred method for screenshots/video of the majority of the players.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be out on September 1st for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
