Deep Silver has announced that their open word FPS title, Homefront: The Revolution will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on May 17, 2016. The Leak by Retailer Target that took place five days ago seems to be correct as it also stated the game for a May 17 release.
Deep Silver also announced that a closed beta will be held exclusively on the Xbox One in February. Beta codes will be provided by Deep Silver through various promotions. You can also register yourself on the official beta website for a chance to get a code. There is still no word about the beta being on the PC or the PS4.
A new gameplay trailer titled as ‘This is Philadelphia’ was also released by Deep Silver which showcases the game’s Yellow Zones. The Yellow Zones are described as the areas where civilians live in great fear
“A mix of Orwellian police state and ghetto slum, the People are kept under the heel of oppression through permanent surveillance, 24-hour propaganda, and an ever-constant military presence,” Deep Silver says of Homefront‘s Yellow Zones, where Resistance fighters push back against their occupiers.
The year is 2029, four years have passed since the events of Homefront. The GKR has lost some of their western states including Hawaii and Alaska to the Americans. You will play as Ethan and will have to make your through the land by defeating various enemies as you attempt to take back Philadelphia, which is now the central base of the GKR.
Homefront: The Revolution will be released on May 17, 2016 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game is a sequel to Homefront which was released back in 2011. The game is developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Sliver.
