Horizon Zero Dawn Early Gameplay Prototype Shows Killzone 3 Placeholder Character

Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most successful projects by Guerrilla Games. It has sold through more than 7 million copies worldwide. The game was reportedly in development before Killzone Shadow Fall. Guerrilla Games recently gave out first look at the very early prototype for Horizon Zero Dawn in a presentation during GDC.

The presentation was conducted at GDC by Guerrilla Games’ Daniel Calvert where he talked about the challenges of making Horizon Zero Dawn characters. He showcased a tiny glimpse of an early prototype footage that seemed to resemble Metal Gear Solid.

After the development of Killzone Shadow Fall wrapped up, Guerrilla Games had a 200 person development team that all rolled over into their next project. Killzone Shadow Fall launched with the PS4 in later 2013 while Horizon Zero Dawn was released in early 2017, giving Guerrilla Games more than 3 years of development.

Horizon Zero Dawn is available now exclusively for the PS4. It was developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
