Injustice 2 continues the plot of Injustice: Gods Among Us, as an alternate timeline Batman and his allies attempt to piece together society while fighting off the remnants of Superman’s totalitarian regime, when suddenly a new threat emerges on Earth. And now during the currently ongoing Gamescom 2016, developer NetherRealm Studios dropped a new trailer for the game and it features the characters Harley Quinn and Deadshot.
The trailer, featured below, introduces both the characters and shows them engaged in battle with the likes of Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Atrocitus and Wonder Woman, and we also get a very brief look at the multiple costumes available in-game for them. Unlike his fellow Suicide Squad member Harley Quinn, this will also mark Deadshot’s first appearance in the series.
Injustice 2 will also introduce a loot system to the game called the Gear System. What this does is provide players with costume pieces and equipment after every match, which not only allows players to customize the appearance of their characters, but also provide buffs such as increased strength, speed, defense, health, or new moves. Players are able to swap costume pieces such as as arms, legs, chest, capes, and shields, with each character possessing around over a thousand options in each category.
Injustice 2 is set to release on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Android and iOS some time in 2017.
