Insomnia59 is an upcoming fan festival, and like its predecessor, Insomnia58 which was held in August this year, it will showcase head-mounted displays (HMDs) such as, HTC Vive, PlayStation VR and Oculus Rift. Other than this, Microsoft’s MR headset HoloLens will make an appearance in the festival this year.

HoloLens is a mixed-reality, head-mounted smartglasses developed and manufactured by Microsoft. The glasses are designed in a way that the users wear them around their heads to distribute its weight equally and provide maximum comfort. On the top edge of the glasses, there are two pairs of buttons, one for volume control and the other for brightness adjustment.

Microsoft announced a global expansion of HoloLens on October 12, and stated that the smartglasses will be available for pre-order in Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, New Zealand and UK.

Although there has been no official confirmation regarding what will be available at the event, speculations are made that products similar to the ones at Insomnia58 – Battlezone, RIGS Mechanized Combat League, PlayStation VR Worlds and Farpoint for PlayStation VR – will be seen, in addition to HoloLens.
