Insomniac Games Denies Sunset Overdrive PC Rumor

Sunset Overdrive is an Xbox One exclusive that was developed by Insomniac Games and published by Microsoft. The game was released in 2014 and it has also been offered as a part of the Games With Gold lineup for the month of April 2016.

Sunset Overdrive is one of the few Xbox One exclusive that has never made its way to PC and despite the recent rumor from an insider “Enter the Dragon Punch” from popular gaming forum NeoGAF, who claims to have some solid sources stating that Sunset Overdrive and Halo 5 are coming to PC, both of these rumors appear to have been proven false by Microsoft and Insomniac Games.

Halo 5 rumor was proven false when Halo 5 Creative Director Frank’O Connor confirmed that they have no plans to bring Halo 5 to PC. They are only working on Halo 5: Forge for PC that will allow the PC community to get a taste of some of the multiplayer of Halo 5 and also result in easy sharing and creation of custom user made maps for the Forge mode. The Verge also managed to get in touch with Microsoft spokesperson who confirmed that they have no plans for a PC port.

Sunset Overdrive rumor also appears to have been proven false by none other than Insomniac Games. James Stevenson is the PR manager of Insomniac Games and his reply regarding the potential rumor of Sunset Overdrive coming to PC was simply “news to me.”

This goes to show that no matter what, don’t really take any information from any insider at face value at all. The rumors can either appear to be bogus or outdated information, after all, plans change all the time.
