IO Interactive’s immensely popular Hitman game finally reached the end of it’s first season at the end of last month with episode 6. Now, the developer has also confirmed that a second season has been greenlit.
This information comes courtesy of website Gamergen, who were able to get an interview with Hakan Abrak, Studio production director at IO Interactive, at Paris Games Week 2016 that just ended recently. In it, he describes that a second season will be coming that will introduce new locations and cities as well as more free content like Elusive Targets and Escalation Missions.
He also mentions that even though the first season has ended, that does not mean that locations such as Paris or Marrakesh will become irrelevant. More missions and special events may continue to be added to them well after the new season is out.
The second season will also use the same game launcher as the first season and even a lot of the unlocked features such as gear and weapons will be carried forward.
Hitman Season 1 is now fully out and is available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. The season finale was released just this week, and you can learn more about it here.
