Just Cause 4 Runs At Dynamic 1440p On PS4 Pro, Dynamic 2160p On Xbox One X

Just Cause 4 is out now for the PS4 and Xbox One, and we have our first look at the resolution and frame rate of the game.

Digital Foundry has released their analysis of Just Cause 4 on all platforms including the base PS4 and Xbox One. If you remember Just Cause 3, it was apparently a mess at launch with terrible frame rate and long load times. The new Apex Engine for Just Cause 4 is faring much better, albeit at the cost of visual quality.

Resolution And Frame Rate For Just Cause 4 On PS4 Pro And Xbox One X?

Just Cause 4 runs at dynamic 4K resolution on the Xbox One X. The lowest it drops to is 1440p on the Xbox One X while going as high as a full 4K resolution on occasions, but it is rare. The frame rate is not quite as stable as the PS4 Pro version which manages to settle between a limit of 1440p to 1080p. It remains closer to 1080p than the upper bound of its limit.

The base PS4 and Xbox One version suffer more in the image quality department and can drop as low as 720p. PS4 caps out at 1080p while Xbox One has a limit of 900p. All platforms target 30 FPS but PS4 Pro version manages to remain the most stable due to a generally lower resolution compared to the Xbox One X version.

Just Cause 4 developer Avalanche Studios has outlined their future update plans, so hopefully, they can improve the performance for the game in due time.

Just Cause 4 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
