San Diego Studio has officially announced the release date for Kill Strain, a team based twin-stick shooter. Zach Thomas, San Diego Studio’s community manager, posted the information on the Playstation blog, where it says PS+ members can get the game on July 12th, while all PS4 players receive it on July 19th.
“Kill Strain is a PvP experience that pits three teams against one another under uniquely dynamic circumstances. Composed of two teams of four humans, and one team of one or two mutants; mutants have the ability to turn the human combatants — resulting in the team sizes shifting as the match progresses. Matches end when one of three end conditions are met: 1) All Humans Turned, 2) Base Destroyed (Human or Mutant), 3) Strain Takes Over (Time Runs Out).”

Sony’s San Diego Studio is best known for its NBA lineup and games such as MLB: The Show, and The Mark of Kri. The studio calls Kill Strain a service based game, alongside an already released “Guns Up!”, and it will be free to download when live. The studio is also working on another service based game called “Drawn to Death.”
Kill Strain is still currently in Limited Access, but San Diego Studio is sending out invites weekly. PlayStation’s official blog mentions that from June 29th to July 3rd, they’ll be sending out a large wave of invites to people who’ve signed up for the beta. If you’re interested in signing up, head over to KillStrain.com, but keep in mind there will be limited invites available.
