At Sony’s “Lineup Tour” event prior to Tokyo Game Show, a brand new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 was revealed, which focused primarily on Disney’s Big Hero 6’s characters and the world. Baymax and Hiro were first introduced in the Big Hero 6 movie back in 2014. The trailer showed Sora, Donald and Goofy joining forces with Baymax and getting a hold of a Big Hero 6 keyblade called Nano Arms.
The trailer can be seen in the video below.
The trailer showed off Sora and his comrades engaging in fast-paced combat across multiple locales, including a bridge, a skyscraper, and the city streets.
Although the main focus of this trailer was Big Hero 6’s world, brief glimpses of characters from other worlds were also shown, including Tangled and Monsters Inc. The trailer also featured a Gummi Ship segment, with the ship destroying incoming asteroids and engaging in boss battles.
In addition, a bonus Kingdom Hearts VR experience for the PlayStation VR was revealed following the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer. This VR experience will be absolutely free and will be available for download sometime during the holiday season. The trailer showed a brief glimpse of gameplay, with players assuming the role of Sora in first-person.
According to Square Enix, with this immersive experience, Kingdom Hearts fans will be able to relive some of their favorite memories from the storied franchise through a brand new medium.
Update: According to the game director Tetsuya Nomura, an extended version of the trailer will release on September 18th.
A message from #KingdomHearts III director, Tetsuya Nomura:
