Kingdom Hearts 3 vs. Disney’s Tangled Comparison Is Mind Blowing, Hard To See Difference

It is not always that we come across a comparison between an animated movie and video game that shows a pretty close result as in this case with Kingdom Hearts 3.

Tangled is one of the new animated movies from Disney which uses a new kind of hair rendering tech for Rapunzel’s long hair. She is a part of Kingdom Hearts 3 with the world of Tangled being a huge part of it. It seems like the latest trailer for the game had scenes similar to the animated movie which gave fans a chance to compare both of them and see how close both look, but with one obvious difference. If you want to see it all in motion, here is a good video comparison although it is mostly compressed. (source)

It is pretty hard to notice the difference at first, but as soon as you can see Goofy and Sora, it becomes clear that which is the animated movie and which one is the video game. As for how it looks so impressive, we have to give props to the Unreal Engine 4 and Square Enix engineers who managed to utilize its potential to bring real-time graphics sop close to the pre-rendered ones.

We have already seen it in the past with Toy Story and Kingdom Hearts 3 comparison, but Frozen is a more modern example. The scenes being so similar also helps in this situation.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out on January 29th for the PS4 and Xbox One.
