When you thought you were hyped up for the upcoming Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV movie, Square Enix decided to drop this bombshell of a trailer. The fresh off the press Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV trailer, for me at least, made me more excited for it than the main game itself.
With a strong Game of Thrones vibe, the latest trailer for the Final Fantasy XV prequel movie showcases the movie’s main characters and the conflict behind the move and the game itself. Check it out below:
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV releases in select theatres on August 19. The movie will also be available later on Blu-ray and is part of the Final Fantasy XV Collector’s Edition.
Here’s the official overview of the movie:
The magical kingdom of Lucis is home to the sacred Crystal, and the menacing empire of Niflheim is determined to steal it. King Regis of Lucis (Sean Bean) commands an elite force of soldiers called the Kingsglaive. Wielding their king’s magic, Nyx (Aaron Paul) and his fellow soldiers fight to protect Lucis. As the overwhelming military might of the empire bears down, King Regis is faced with an impossible ultimatum – to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafreya of Tenebrae (Lena Headey), captive of Niflheim, and surrender his lands to the empire’s rule. Although the king concedes, it becomes clear that the empire will stop at nothing to achieve their devious goals, with only the Kingsglaive standing between them and world domination.
In other news, the game just got a strong showing at the on-going E3 conference. There has been a trailer, demo, box art and gameplay mechanic showcase so far.
