In a recent AMA held on reddit, Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann answered a couple of questions asked by fans regarding The Last of Us, and its recently released SP DLC “Left Behind.”
When a fan asked them about about what are they currently working on, and if they will ever release The Last of Us 2 or more DLC, Bruce Straley had the following response.
we’re working on the 3rd DLC drop for MP right now! …and maybe something else… we’ll see. 😉
Earlier this week, Neil Druckmann teased their next project in response to Yoshida’s tweet regarding The Last of Us DLC.

Now it might not be a surprise to hear that Naughty Dog is working on a brand new project along with Uncharted, since this is what they did with The Last of Us and Uncharted 3 release, where both games were simultaneously in development at the same time. But it definitely casts a question on what their next project will be. When asked if they will do a sequel to The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann replied back that there is a “50/50” chance that they will do one.
I am sure a lot of people will like a sequel to The Last of Us, and then there are people who will like them to work on a brand new IP. Now it is up to Naughty Dog to determine what to do next. Make a sequel to a critically acclaimed and highly successful IP “The Last of Us” or create a brand new IP, and hope that it achieves the same level of success. Although our bet is that “something else” is a PS4 port of The Last of Us, that Naughty Dog might be working along with the 3rd MP DLC for The Last of Us. Perhaps they will finish the DLC and release a Game of the Year edition on PS4 with enhanced graphics. We will have to wait for until E3 to find it out.
