A brand new Harry Potter game was recently leaked and as the footage was taken down, more information about the project is starting to surface.
First of all, we learn from Jason Schreier, who works for Kotaku, that this is not from Rocksteady. It was mere speculation when the video was leaked but this project has since been lined up with the job listings by Avalanche Software, who previously worked under Disney until they were bought by Warner Bros. Interactive.
They were hiring for game designers in 2017 for a position that required “deep understanding of British culture and grammatical presentation” and the skills to develop “gaming narrative and branching storytelling, particularly in the realm of RPGs.”
This rumor was further corroborated by BBC News reporter Lizo Mzimba who also listed the alleged title of this new game.
Am told this is from a yet to be announced RPG currently titled Harry Potter Magic Awakened, although other titles including Magic Forever are also in the mix. Other Potter games are also thought to be on the way @TomPhillipsEG @ComicBook #HarryPotterMagicAwakened #HarryPotter https://t.co/bgXliE0Hme

The original leaker of this video was a Reddit user who goes by the name VapeThisBro. According to him, this was a part of alleged market research that Warner Bros. Interactive was apparently conducting all over the USA. He was asked to see this footage and take part in a survey and that’s how this video made it online. He claims to have more footage from it but he has no plans to share more for now.
The footage that was uploaded initially received a copyright complaint from Warner Bros. Interactive and was taken down immediately so this might give more credibility that it was indeed a functional upcoming game that was not meant to be seen this early in its development.
