Microsoft announced Backwards Compatibility for the Xbox One at their E3 2015 conference today. This backwards compatibility will be one unique feature that will essentially allow the players to import their Xbox 360 library to the Xbox One. However, the initial list of backwards compatible games is not that big as you might have expected.
Microsoft released a list of games that are currently backwards compatible on their official website and we can count a total of 18 games from the list. You can check them out below.
- Banjo Kazooie: N n B
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Banjo-Tooie
- BattleBlock Theater
- Defense Grid
- Geometry Wars Evolved
- Hexic HD
- Jetpac Refuelled
- Kameo
- Mass Effect
- Perfect Dark
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Small Arms
- Super Meat Boy
- Toy Soldiers
- Toy Soldiers: Cold War
- Viva Piñata
- Viva Piñata: TIP
While this list might look small, it is just the beginning so expect more games to be added to this list with time. Games like Fallout 3 and Tom Clancy for the Xbox 360 were confirmed to be available for free with their next iteration on Xbox One. This also means that Microsoft might add more games to the list with time.
