Bandai Namco has confirmed the release date for their upcoming action adventure game based on the popular Little Witch Academia anime. This was announced as a 2018 release but the release date was still shrouded in mystery. It has been all but confirmed now with an official trailer that also shows the opening theme song “Cradle of Eternity.”
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time was developed on the Unity game engine and attempts to emulate the same art style as the animated show. It feels lighthearted next to the more serious tone of some of the recent Japanese adventure games and while it is hard to say how it will end up, the trailer does show a lot of promise for the game.
Little Witch Academia has quite a fan following despite being restricted to just a short animated show. The anime was also partially funded on Kickstarter and released for the backers and fans later on Blu-ray.
Little Witch Academia basically features a group of young witches at an academy as they learn their skills. It basically sounds like an animated Harry Potter with witches and wizards, however it doesn’t really delve that deeper into the dark side of the story.
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time will launch on May 15 for the PS4 and PC.
