Mafia III announced, full reveal coming August 5

The next iteration in the popular Mafia series has been announced. Mafia III was announced earlier today by publisher 2K Games promising a full reveal coming next week on August 5.

The game’s domain registry was spotted back in late June and it was all but confirmed that the game was under development. The last game in the series, Mafia II released back in 2010 so it has been quite some time since the last Mafia game.

2K said the following in their press release:

Mafia III is the next installment in the popular series known for immersing players into a world of organized crime through rich narrative storytelling and a beautifully crafted game world featuring period-accurate cars, music and fashion,

In addition to the announcement trailer, Mafia III will debut at gamescom with a behind-closed-doors presentation.

Mafia III will be developed by Hangar 13 instead of 2K Czech who developed the previous game. Hangar 13 is a fairly new studio that opened its doors back in December of last year. Stay tuned as we’ll keep you posted further information regarding Mafia III as it becomes available.
