Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man will get a new game plus update soon.
This was stated in an interview with GameInformer which was related to the game’s post-launch support including the upcoming DLC.
Talking about the upcoming Black Cat DLC, the game director for Marvel’s Spider-Man, Bryan Intihar said that when it comes to releasing such a story DLC, the fans will never be satisfied with the amount of content offered in it. They always demand more and more content.
So their job with this DLC is to deliver the same high-quality content that was present in the main game. It will further build on the story from the main game, add new activities and costumes for Spider-Man. He didn’t give an exact length for it but said that it depends on the player.
Bryan Intihar hasn’t managed to spend much time with the development of the DLC due to PR tours but he was pleased with the progress made on it. The first DLC is focused on Black Cat and will be out on October 23rd. The rest of the 2 DLCs that are a part of the Season Pass are also planned to launch before the end of this year.
Regarding a potential new game plus mode, the game director teased that an update will be out soon, but he didn’t give an estimated date or time for it. That exact words were “super soon” and judging from the DLC launch drawing closer, it could be next week or perhaps it can be a pre-DLC update to add support for it, and include a new game plus mode.
Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now exclusively for the PS4.
