Mega Man fans are in for a treat as they can finally play a brand new mainline game in the series after a long hiatus. Mega Man is a popular franchise but it was shelved by Capcom for a long time. The series has now slowly resurfaced again beginning with the Mega Man Legacy Collection that included all of the original Mega Man games. This will be followed by the Mega Man X Legacy Collection and finally Mega Man 11.
Capcom has now confirmed the release date for Mega Man 11 and shared a brand new trailer that confirms some of the new power that Mega Man will be able to use in battle. This includes the ability to slow down time and charging up his weapon to fire more powerful shots. This is called the Double Gear mechanic in the game.
Mega Man 11 is the first mainline Mega Man game in a long time. There are a lot of spin-offs featuring the Mega Man IP but none have come closer to the success achieved by the side-scrolling platformer. Mega Man 11 seems to continue the series tradition of memorable boss fights and unique combat abilities.
Mega Man 11 will be out on October 2nd for the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It is being developed and published by Capcom.
