Metal Gear Solid 5’s Secret Cutscene Has Finally Triggered On Consoles

Metal Gear Solid 5 had a secret cutscene that had a tricky requirement in order to trigger it, but now reports are stating that this cutscene has been activated on consoles while it only happened once on PC.

Metal Gear Solid 5 has an online component with the FOB Base that lets each player keep nuclear weapons. Once all of the nuclear weapons online are disarmed, it can lead to a secret cutscene played by the game. This never happened because not everyone was able to remove nukes despite how hard they tried to do it.

Now reports from some Twitter users (via) have confirmed that the Nuclear Disarmament Event has triggered on consoles. The first discovery of this cutscene happened once fans began to search into the game files on PC. It was then triggered in-game on PC due to an accident which left all nuke counts to drop to zero on PC. It looks more likely that the same is the case this time, but the platform has switched to consoles.

If you were hoping to see it on your console, unfortunately, some players have already started to create nukes again so this cutscene is likely disabled for now. If you want to see what the fuss is about this secret cutscene, there is a video available for it on YouTube as linked in the article.

Metal Gear Solid 5 is available now for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
