Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Patch 1.06 Is Now Live, PS4 Patch Notes Confirm Save Data Fix

Metal Gear Solid V’s latest patch is now live on all the major platforms. This new update fixes issues in FOB Missions, Metal Gear Online and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

You should be able to download this latest update on all the major platforms. It is around 670 MB on the PS4. You can read the patch notes for the PS4 version of the game below.

The important part in this update is that Konami has finally fixed the save data corruption bug that plagued the PS4 version of the game. As seen in patch notes: “if the electricity of the game was cut under specific conditions and timing, unrecoverable save data was created.”

As a victim of this particular save corrupting bug, I am glad to see that it has finally been sorted out. Now I finally can stop uploading my save data to the cloud after playing it each time.

In addition to these new fixes and additions, there are also some secrets added like the ability to recruit Quiet again after getting the true ending of the game, and the ability to switch to Metal Gear Online from the options menu without having to return to the main menu.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is out now on the PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
