Metal Gear Solid V Release Date Revealed, Will Be The Last Game In The Series

Metal Gear Solid V release date has been spotted in the latest video by IGN, which was uploaded online earlier than expected due to an error. The video was taken down relatively quickly, although it was too late, and the release date was already making its rounds online.

This video also included an interview with Hideo Kojima and it ended with an announcement of the release date, showing a September 1st worldwide release. You can check this out in the image below.

In the same video, Hideo Kojima confirms that this will be the last game in the Metal Gear Solid series.

“I always say this will be my last Metal Gear, but the games in the series that I’ve personally produced – Metal on MSX, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4 and Peace Walker – and now Metal Gear Solid 5 constitute a single Metal Gear saga,” Kojima said in the video interview to IGN.

“With Metal Gear Solid 5 I’m finally closing the loop on that saga. In that sense, this will be the final Metal Gear Solid. To me, this is the last Metal Gear.”

Of course, judging from his comments above, it is clear that he is talking about Metal Gear Solid leaving  the door open for Metal Gear Rising and or other potential spinoffs.
