Metro Exodus is out on February 15th and today the official social media account for the game has shared a gorgeous CG trailer called Artyom’s Nightmare.
Metro Exodus is inspired by the best-selling book Metro 2035 written by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky. It is a post-apocalyptic game that features mutated creatures and more threats in this new world. Metro Exodus developer 4A Games was recently under the spotlight due to remarks made by one of their employees, which was later clarified by the game’s publisher.
This trailer is completely pre-rendered so while it doesn’t represent the game visually, it gives a general overview of what can you expect from it.
Here is a story summary which is taken from the YouTube channel.
A quarter century after nuclear war devastated the Earth, a few thousand survivors took refuge in the Moscow Metro. They believed they were the last remnants of humanity – but they were wrong. Only Artyom dared to dream of a life on the surface. But dreams can quickly turn to nightmares… It’s time to leave the ruins of Moscow, and journey beyond.
Metro Exodus will be out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC through the Epic Games Store. Those who have pre-ordered it on Steam will be able to play it there while the game will be available back again one year after its launch on February 15, 2019.
