Microsoft announced at the end of their X018 event that they’re adding Obsidian Entertainment and inXile Entertainment to their growing collection of first-party studios.
Both Studios are masters of the role playing genre with both staffing developers responsible for contributing pivotal elements in improving the genre.
Obsidian Entertainment are the name behind games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout: New Vegas, South Park: The Stick of Truth and recently the Pillars of Eternity series.
inXile Entertainment led by legendary developer Brian Fargo, are responsible for the Wasteland and Bard’s Tale series.
With these two studios Microsoft now has 13 first-party studios making games for its platform.
They’re not done though as we’ve been hearing some more studios are currently being scouted. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds.
