Modern Warfare Update Version 1.02 Is Out Before Launch

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is getting its second update despite the game not launching until October 25. This one is reportedly 14 GB in size.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Ahead of its launch, Infinity ward appears to be aggressively pushing new updates for the game. The second update for Modern Warfare was released today. It requires 14 GB of data to be installed to the hard disk.

While we don’t know what is included in this update as the patch notes are generic mentioning bug fixes only, one reddit user has shared that this update has reduced the install size on his Xbox One, dropping it to just 120 GB down from 137 GB.

In either case, it is clear that those who have to get the game from retail will need to download a big update that will patch out any bugs or issues with the game. You won’t be able to play the game offline so there is no way to bypass the update for now.
