Monster Hunter World On PC Has A Game Breaking Bug That Wipes Finished Save Data

Monster Hunter World might have launched on PC with a lot of acclaim and hype but it didn’t manage to last as long. The game is suffering from some serious issues that are affecting the experience of users who are playing it on Steam.

As shared on the Monster Hunter World subreddit, this bug can occur if you are near the end of the game and defeat the final boss Xeno’Jiiva. The game can possibly crash to desktop once you get to the end cutscenes and see the credits.

I highly suggest making a back up of your save data before attempting Xeno’Jiiva. Apparently there is currently some bug with the end cut scene/credits. After you defeat the monster you have about a 75% chance to continue on normally OR the game will crash to desktop after the hunt screen and never be able to load into game again. Every time it is tried the game just crashes to desktop. New characters work fine.

The user who shared this bug also shared a method to back up your save just in case you experience a save data wipe after finishing the game.

Copy SAVEDATA1000 in there. Paste it when you want to reload to the point you last saved at.

Monster Hunter World is estimated to have sold through 10 million copies across the consoles and PC since launching last week on Steam. It is one of the fastest and best selling game by Capcom.
