Warner Bros. Interactive has revealed today that the recently released Mortal Kombat 11 is the most successful launch in the history of the franchise for NetherRealm Studios.
Mortal Kombat 11 was released for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on April 23. The game is out now on all platforms and while there was no sales figure given for it, it was confirmed to have the most successful launch in the history of the franchise surpassing the previous best record set by Mortal Kombat X.
David Haddad, the president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, shared this information in a panel at GamesBeat summit in Los Angeles (via).
Mortal Kombat 11 is the second game in the series to launch this generation. Unlike Mortal Kombat X, this one is also releasing on a Nintendo platform with the Nintendo Switch getting it on the same day and date as other platforms.
Mortal Kombat 11 was developed by NetherRealm Studios and it is available to purchase now on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. There is a Standard Edition of the game for $59.99 along with a Premium Edition for $99.99. Those who have the money can also get a Kollector’s Edition for $299.99.
