Mortal Kombat 11 is currently undergoing a special online beta test giving everyone a chance to play the game on PS4 or Xbox One. The game also supports Xbox One X and PS4 Pro with 4K resolution and improved textures.
Mortal Kombat 11 beta has been analyzed by YouTube channel VGTech. They have shared their findings on the PS4, Xbox One, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X version of the game. The highlight of their video is that the game runs at smooth 60 FPS on all platforms.
Here’s what VGTech had to share regarding the performance, resolution and frame rate for every version of the game.
No pixel counts below 1920×1080 were found on the base PS4. Xbox One uses a dynamic resolution with pixel counts found during gameplay being between 1536×864 and 1664×936. During scenes capped at 30fps the Xbox One can reach 1920×1080.
PS4 Pro uses a dynamic resolution with pixel counts found during gameplay being between approximately 2240×1260 and 2560×1440. During scenes capped at 30fps the PS4 Pro can reach 3200×1800. PS4 Pro seems to downsample from this resolution when outputting at 1080p. Xbox One X uses a dynamic resolution with pixel counts found during gameplay being between 2880×1620 and 3200×1800. During scenes capped at 30fps the Xbox One X can reach 3840×2160.
Xbox One X and PS4 Pro also seem to offer higher quality motion blur and better quality textures compared to the base PS4 and Xbox One.
Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 23, 2019. It was also announced for the Nintendo Switch but there is no confirmed release date given for it yet.
