Mortal Kombat X’s latest update is now live ahead of the launch of the XL edition. This update also contains the long awaited net code improvement that was recently beta tested by the players. If you haven’t played Mortal Kombat X yet, the new XL update is definitely the best time to get into the series.
Mortal Kombat X’s latest content patch updates the game to version 1.12. This new update is around 6-7 GB in size and includes the following fixes and additions.
- New Netcode
- Support for Kombat Pack 2 DLC
- The Pit Stage
- Character Buffs/Changes
The main addition is the new improved net code which was beta tested by a select few players. This improved net code solves some of the issues faced by the players during online matchmaking including horrendous lag when playing versus matches. Since the game was region locked to the origin of purchase, those who imported a physical copy from a different country, or purchased it digitally from a different store, would have been stuck playing the game with horrible pings. It is not confirmed yet whether this improved net code removes the region restriction or just updates the net code.
Mortal Kombat X is also getting a new Kombat Pack 2 featuring characters like Bo Rai Cho, Xenomorph, Leatherface and Tri-Borg. These characters will be available to the players once the DLC goes live on March 1st.
Mortal Kombat X is available now on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It was developed by Netherrealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive.
