At The Game Awards this year, Ed Boon took to stage to announce the latest entry in the Mortal Kombat franchise, Mortal Kombat XI, for the PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Switch. The announcement came with an announcement trailer, showing what appears to be pre-rendered footage. The first ever trailer can be seen in the video below.
The series is known for its brutality, and Mortal Kombat 11 is no different in this regard. The trailer shows fan favorite characters Scorpion and Raiden battling it out against each other with fatal consequences.
Mortal Kombat XI is scheduled for worldwide release on April 23, 2018. Prior to that, a community reveal event is set to take place on January 17. Stay tuned for more information on the game as it becomes available.
