Neat Homebrew app allows you to play WOW on your 3DS

The world of Homebrew is full of brilliant ideas and people putting those ideas into fruition. This new app which I came across on famed Homebrew and Emulation forum GBATemp allows people to turn their 3DS into a Remote Desktop device allowing them to play games and use other programs on the 3DS.

The developer demoed the app while playing World of Warcraft, the frame rate is very slow but the app is in very early development. As more time is put into the project, the app will no doubt be able to hit that sweet 30fps mark allowing smooth gameplay. People have also been playing the Dolphin emulator to emulate Gamecube and Wii games on the 3DS. The app also allows input from the 3DS itself, as you can see in the video below where the developer plays WOW directly using the 3DS’ buttons.

The app is not only good for games but for other programs as well. Just think of viewing spreadsheets directly on your 3DS!

If it wasn’t obvious before the app requires you to have a hacked 3DS. This app has huge potential in my opinion, what do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
