In a separate tweet later, the official account confirmed that this is a free update and it should be available to everyone.
Need for Speed Payback was controversial at launch due to its implementation of a slot machine mechanics that forced users to go through ridiculous measures just to get the necessary car upgrades. This was later tweaked and changed with updates but the damage was done by then for the game.
Need for Speed Payback is the latest entry in the popular franchise. It features 3 different main characters and has a strong focus on the single player story mode. The new addition of online free roam will add more replay value to the game.
Need for Speed Payback is available now for the PS4, Xbox One and PC. It was developed by Ghost Games and published by EA.
