New Cinematic Trailer Released For The Last Guardian

It’s hard to believe that after almost a decade in development, The Last Guardian is finally set to release in the coming weeks. And now, Sony Interactive Entertainment has released a gorgeous new CG Cinematic Trailer for the game.

In an official post of the PlayStation Blog, the trailer was released alongside an interview with  creative director Fumito Ueda. In it, he not only goes in-depth about the inspirations behind The Last Guardian, but also explains it’s connections with Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, saying:

“The way I see it, maybe they are from the same world, or the same universe. But anything further than that is really up to the player’s imagination. Everyone has a different level of relationship with the two previous titles, so we wouldn’t dictate that it is or it isn’t. It’s up to the player.”

You can read up on the interview, as well as Fumito Ueda’s views on expanding the appeal of video games, here.

Set in a strange and mystical land, The Last Guardian explores the story of a young boy who discovers a mysterious creature, named Trico, with whom he forms a deep unbreakable bond. The pair must rely on each other to journey through towering treacherous ruins filled with unknown dangers.
