New Dualshock 4 controller with added buttons Patented by Sony, Dualshock 4 Elite incoming?

New Dualshock 4 controller

Days after a new rumored revision of Playstation 4’s Dualshock 4 controller hit the FCC, another patent has popped up which’s design adds more buttons to the controller.

Microsoft released an improved controller a while back for the Xbox One in the form of the Xbox One Elite controller, maybe Sony wants to do the same?

The patent is currently applied for in Japan and shows off the new controller’s design in its full glory. According to the design images the controller mostly looks the same but has two buttons on the grips similar to the Xbox Elite and Scuff controllers. Its to be noted that the Elite controller only has four extra buttons over the original while this only has two.

The Share and Options buttons also seem to be moved under the D-Pad and Face buttons. The touch panel now also goes up to the edges of the middle portion of the controller.

Personally I think this is the controller Sony with be launching with the Playstation NEO, after all Microsoft did the same with their Xbox Elite console. For now we can only speculate but the new controller certainly looks interesting.

What do you think of the new supposed Dualshock 4? Upgrade or a downgrade? Let us know below.
