Final Fantasy VII Remake was announced at E3 2015 and it remains one of the most anticipated game for a while now. While there is no official release date for it yet, it is still confirmed as ‘First on PS4’ so there is always the chance that it could be released for another system after releasing on PS4.
Final Fantasy VII: Remake is being directed by Tetsuya Nomura and produced by Yoshinori Kitase, both of which also worked on the original game back in 1997. Nomura recently attended MAGIC (Monaco Anime Game International Conference) where he shared some new details about his two projects, Kingdom Hearts 3 and the hotly anticipated Final Fantasy VII: Remake.
The above two images were shared by Nomura which give us a glimpse at the battle and cover system featured in the game. While it is strange to see cover system in a Final Fantasy, it was also present in Final Fantasy XV so maybe it works in a similar way for the VII Remake. As for the battle system, we can get a look at the Guard Scorpion, which is the first boss battle in the original game.
Nomura confirmed that the environment is partly destructible during battle and there won’t be any friendly fire so allies won’t take damage with grenades. The UI that can be seen is not final.
Nomura also showcased a single screenshot from Kingdom Hearts that reveal a new heartless. He revealed that the keyblade can be transformed into a lot of different things in Kingdom Hearts 3 and the screenshot shows its transformation as a shield.
While there were new screenshots released, we still don’t have any official release date for both of these games. Hopefully an announcement can be made at the upcoming E3.
