Final Fantasy XV has been missing in action for quite a while. The game was originally revealed at E3 2006 with a CGI trailer and was confirmed to be a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis series, which originally featured Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Final Fantasy Agito XIII. This idea was later dropped and each of the game in the series were released individually, except for Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Finally after a long wait, Square Enix revealed the game again to the world at E3 last year. This reveal also showed that the name has been changed from Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV, making it the next entry in the series for Final Fantasy. Although the world still has the same mythology as Final Fantasy XIII, the story and characters are entirely different.
Sadly, after this reveal and promises of more info, the game barely got any new info after E3. Fans were hoping for a trailer and new info at this E3, but they will be disappointed to know that the game’s producer has confirmed no new info at this year’s E3 for Final Fantasy XV. Here is what he had to say regarding Final Fantasy XV. (Thanks SQEX)
Well, first I’d like to say that development for FFXV is going well. Internally, we try to ascertain the best timing for revealing new information about FFXV to the fans. So when we were going over our promotion plans, we judged that this year’s E3 would not be the best time to exhibit information about FFXV. Instead we are currently planning to exhibit new information at events after E3 2014. I am extremely grateful to all the fans who excitedly anticipate FFXV, and I’m looking forward to share new information when the timing is right. I would appreciate if fans hold out until then.
