New Gameplay Trailer Released For Conan Exiles, Early Access Dates Announced

Developer Funcom has just released a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open world survival game Conan Exiles.

The trailer, seen below, showcases the exploration, combat, construction and a number of other features that will be in the game. One of the most interesting features showcased in the trailer revolve around your player being able to enslave bandits in the exiled lands and force them to do you bidding, as seen from the brief scene of enemies being bound and dragged by their feet.

Other aspects teased by Funcom include being able to “Sacrifice the beating hearts of your enemies on the blood-soiled altars of your god”, as well as “Summon the colossal avatar of your god and see them lay waste to your enemies and their homes.”

Joel Bylos, Game Director, had this to say:

“The open-world survival genre is ripe for Conan’s conquest. If there ever was a world that can truly test your strength and skill, it is the brutal and savage world of Conan the Barbarian. ‘Conan Exiles’ is not just an empty sandbox, it is a world rich in history where you must discover the secrets of ancient civilizations as you struggle to build your own.”

From what we can tell from the trailer, the massive stone statue and the snake appear to be two of these gods, and you may be able to use them to attack other players. Crafting also plays an integral role in the game, with players being able to craft tools, weapons and even massive cities. It has also been revealed that the game can be played either online, or as a single player experience, with both public and private servers available.
